Alstom, the French rolling stock manufacturer, has secured a €300m contract to implement its NExTEO signalling system on the Réseau Express Régional (RER) B and RER D lines in the Île-de-France region, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Jointly supplied by Île-de-France Mobilités, SNCF Réseau, SNCF Voyageurs, and RATP, this 12-year contract marks Alstom’s largest signalling project in France.

The NExTEO technology aims to enhance reliability and optimize infrastructure in alignment with SNCF and RATP operating rules.

Notably, the solution adapts to the densely populated central Paris area while ensuring efficiency in the less-populated Île-de-France region.

With energy consumption savings of up to 30%, Alstom will equip 350 trains and 100km of the busy RER lines, solidifying its position in the CBTC industry.

This partnership underscores Alstom’s commitment to improving performance and meeting the rising demand for passenger traffic on these vital transit routes.
