Each day, the railway handles over 8,400 railcars through its Clearing Yards near Midway Airport. It also manages 28 miles of mainline track and over 300 miles of switching lines.

“I’m excited to build on the Belt’s legacy,” Peck said in a statement today. “My experience in operations and planning will strengthen the company and train future leaders.”

Additionally, Peck aims to enhance partnerships with state, local, and federal agencies for efficiency. He will focus on the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency program to improve shipments.
The Belt’s strategic location makes it a key player in national rail logistics. Peck’s leadership promises to drive innovation and growth for the company and its partners.
His appointment comes at a crucial time, as rail transport demand continues to rise rapidly. Experts believe Peck’s expertise will ensure the railway meets these challenges head-on.
Railway of Chicago Prepares for Future Growth
Peck plans to prioritize operational excellence and collaboration with stakeholders across the industry. Consequently, the Belt could see significant advancements under his direction in the coming years.
With decades of experience, Peck brings a wealth of knowledge to this Chicago-based railway. His vision aligns with the company’s goal to remain a leader in rail transport.
The railway industry eagerly anticipates the positive changes Peck will introduce in his tenure. For now, stakeholders celebrate his arrival and expect a bright future ahead.
This move solidifies the Belt’s commitment to excellence in North American railroading. And Peck’s track record suggests he’s the right person to steer it forward.
