This is a significant step as the Class 66 locomotive is the most widely used in the country, and its modernization is crucial for the digital transformation of the East Coast Main Line.

This process will take several years and will affect hundreds of Class 66 and 67 locomotives.

After dynamic testing, the locomotive must travel over 8000 km and obtain certification.

The ECDP program is already operational on some sections, but its expansion is expected to ensure seamless movement on signal-free lines.
