Vande Bharat train arrives in Kurukshetra, boosting tourism and growth

The first official halt was made in Kurukshetra. It was a significant move forward for Haryana’s transportation development. The famous religious and cultural heritage site finally got to experience India’s fastest-growing ‘Semi High Speed’ train.

A ceremony was held to mark the occassion in the presence of local administrators and railway representatives at Kurukshetra Junction. The train was welcomed with crowds of people who considered this a sign of development in the region.

“The inclusion of this stop will enable devotees and visitors to easily access Kurukshetra,” said Subhash Sudha, former Minister of State. He added that “an elevated track project will alleviate congestion at five major crossings in the city, lessening commute times.”
“This will not only increase footfall but will also accelerate trade. It will further enhance Kurukshetra’s position in being amongst the leading spots for religious travel,” said Madan Mohan Chhabra, who was previously chairman of 48-kos Tirtha Monitoring Committee.
The Vande Bharat train fosters investments and development
Member of Parliament Naveen Jindal expressed his gratitude to the central government for recognizing the need to establish a new halt in the form of Pihani. He stated that India’s focus on regional connectivity was evident in the fact that Haryana had recently received more express trains like Amb Andaura–Raipur Haryana (Hisar), Chandigarh–Udaipur Express.
At Ambala Cantonment, Cabinet Minister Anil Vij lauded the Vande Bharat train for its time-saving feature along with increased competence. Rajya Sabha member Kartikeya Sharma added that 160 such advanced trains are already functioning across India with advanced technology to improve passenger experience.
The new halt in Kurukshetra shows just how well India’s modern railway system marries heritage with innovation. It further enhances India’s nationwide plan to connect major religious destinations, commercial centers, and tourist spots using fast and environment-friendly transportation.
