It will run at speeds up to 160 km/h and feature premium interiors, upgraded catering, and passenger-friendly facilities. Officials expect strong demand as more travelers seek faster and more comfortable journeys between the two cities.

Vande Bharat sleeper train fares and additional services

Fares are projected to be 10–15% higher than Rajdhani Express tickets. And to balance demand with flexibility, the railway will implement dynamic pricing, especially during peak periods.

Alongside this launch, the railway network is preparing for the festive season by scheduling 12,000 special trains to and from Bihar during Diwali and Chhath. So, passengers will have smoother travel options during these busy weeks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the service and also open the Patna Metro’s primary corridor during a visit in late September. The metro project is entering final testing phases, with power trials on its key segment expected soon.

These initiatives highlight the government’s push for modernization and efficiency. Because the Delhi–Patna route is one of the busiest in the country, the new service aims to improve passenger comfort while meeting high travel demand.
