Indian Railways has launched a special Vande Bharat Express service from Udhampur to New Delhi on May 9, 2025, to accommodate passengers affected by regional airport closures. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Vande Bharat Express: Route, Schedule, and Stops

Train number 02460 departs from Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Station in Udhampur at 12:45 PM and arrives in New Delhi at 10:15 PM, completing the 630 km journey in 9 hours and 30 minutes. The route includes stops at Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana Junction, and Ambala Cantt Junction.

This one-day special service addresses the increased demand due to the temporary suspension of flights in Srinagar and Jammu. By providing a swift and comfortable alternative, Indian Railways ensures uninterrupted connectivity between the Union Territory and the capital.

Vande Bharat Express: Coach Configuration and Ticket Pricing

The train comprises 20 coaches: 18 AC Chair Cars and 2 Executive AC Chair Cars. Tickets are priced at ₹2,000 (approximately $23.40) for AC Chair Car and ₹3,580 (approximately $41.90) for Executive AC Chair Car, based on the current exchange rate of ₹1 = $0.0117. 

Passengers can expect modern amenities and a comfortable journey, reflecting the premium standards of the Vande Bharat Express fleet.
