Poland is currently working on the creation of a “dry port” on the border with Ukraine.

Dry port for agricultural products

This was stated by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland Henryk Kowalczyk during an online meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the establishment of uninterrupted supplies of agricultural products from Ukraine to traditional export-dependent markets, as well as the search for alternative logistics ways to send them through transit corridors through the EU.

“We thank our Polish colleagues for their comprehensive support in establishing the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU countries,” Mykola Solsky emphasized.

In addition, the parties discussed the conditions for mutual certification of products of animal origin to the markets of both countries and the process of notification of export cargo to speed up the passage of relevant procedures at the border and transportation.

“Poland is currently working on the creation of a “dry port” on the border in order to increase the throughput of transportation for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, in particular to third countries,” said Henryk Kowalczyk.

As previously reported, the EU will provide “green corridors” for Ukrainian agricultural exports. In addition, the export of surplus grain will allow Ukraine to receive up to $10 billion.
