Ivan Yurik clarified that in January 2021, Ukrzaliznytsia, due to financial crisis and pandemic, worked with a loss of UAH 693 million, in February – UAH 534 million, in March – UAH 448 million, but for the last two months of spring, this the trend was reversed in April +35 million hryvnia, and in May – almost +39 million hryvnia, reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to UZ.
According to him, a positive trend in the growth of financial receipts is recorded due to the effective implementation of the anti-crisis plan in the company, improvement of operational work in the cargo segment, an increase in the volume of freight traffic, as well as the weakening of quarantine measures in the country. In addition, revenues from passenger traffic were increased due to new runs and a revitalization of the holiday season. So, in May they amounted to more than UAH 585 million, while in April – almost UAH 344 million, in March – about UAH 364 million.
Ukrzaliznytsya in May improved the turnover of freight cars by 20.5%, and the average daily loading reached the level of the pre-crisis 2019.
