The testing of components for the CRRC train with the world’s high operational speed has concluded in China, as reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply, citing ROLLINGSTOCK.
According to the information from the national carrier China Railway, last Wednesday, two test trains, CR400BF-J, passed each other at a speed of 453 km/h on a bridge across the Meizhou Bay (the closing speed reached 891 km/h). The following day, they reached a speed of 420 km/h while traveling in opposite directions in the Haiwei Tunnel (the closing speed reached 840 km/h).

The CR400BF-J trains have been undergoing testing since April 2022 to refine the solutions that will be applied to the CR450 train with an operational speed of 400 km/h (the prototype is currently being assembled).
Earlier, the leading engineer of the China Academy of Railway Sciences, Zhao Hunwei, reported that the technical project of the train should be completed by 2024. The development of the technology faces challenges. Additionally, it is necessary to establish standards that would increase the permitted operational speed from 350 to 400 km/h.
