In Bratislava, the operation of ForCity Plus 29T3 trams from Skoda Group has commenced, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The testing program conducted by the public transportation operator in the capital of Slovakia, DPB, includes covering 7,000 kilometers without passengers and the same distance with passengers on board.

The first two trams were delivered to the city in August, with an additional 18 expected by the end of the year.

These five-section trams are designed to accommodate 250 passengers, including 63 seated positions.

Currently, the city operates 30 one-way ForCity Plus 29T trams and 30 two-way ForCity Plus 30T trams, delivered between 2015 and 2016.

Unlike previous models, the new version features a reinforced body and a braking system from Czech company DAKO-CZ (replacing the brakes from German manufacturer Hanning & Kahl).

Additionally, the interior now includes seating for passengers with limited mobility.

The contract for the delivery of 30 ForCity Plus 29T3 trams, worth €72 million, was signed in March 2022.

In the same year, another agreement was signed for the delivery of 10 ForCity Plus 30T trams, which are expected to arrive in the city in 2024.
