In particular, during the current year, Ukrzaliznytsia has received funds that it plans to spend on acquiring 44 new compartment passenger wagons.

The tender for the purchase is expected to be announced in a few weeks. A budget of 1.9 billion hryvnias has been allocated for these purposes.

The delivery of rolling stock is scheduled for the end of 2024 to the beginning of 2025.

According to Yevhen Lyashchenko, the Kriukiv Railway Car Building Plant (KRCBP) may participate in the tender: “Thanks to government support, the tender conditions have been adjusted. The level of advance payment has been increased, which was critically important for manufacturers. Therefore, I believe that KRCBP will succeed. This was one of the critical issues for them.”

In addition, in 2023, UZ continues the modernization of the platzkart wagon fleet at its own expense.

Furthermore, the head of UZ expressed hope that next year, the company will be able to initiate the procurement process for an additional 100 new wagons with budgetary support.
