The total daily capacity to shift rolling stock from 1520 mm gauge bogies to 1435 mm gauge bogies    for Ukrzaliznytsia and companies from neighboring countries is 175 wagons.

Shift wagons to 1435 mm gauge

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Railinsider.

According to UZ, more wagons can be rearranged at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border (75 wagons per day), namely at the Chop/Zachony border crossing (54). The potential is also high at the Ukrainian-Romanian border (70). Three border crossings between Ukraine and Poland allow changing bogies on 61 wagons daily.

In general, according to UZ data, today there are 4 points for changing wagons from the wide gaugeto the standard European track.

In addition, the Department of Commercial Work published a summary of the dimensions of the wagons for the movement with the rearrangement of bogies on the 1435 mm track gauge across the territory of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania. Data is given regarding which rolling stock, prior agreement and contacts of the responsible persons of the railways of the neighboring states of the European Union are required.

This information may be useful for companies developing alternative routes for the export of Ukrainian goods through the western border crossings by rail.
