Ukrzaliznytsia has revealed plans for expanding the railway capacity to Izmail Port, according to the railway journal Railway Supply.

Ukrzaliznytsia is considering projects to improve the throughput capacity of Izmail Station.

This was mentioned during an online conference on June 22 with railway representatives and agricultural market stakeholders.

The meeting discussed the increasing accumulation of rolling stock arriving at Izmail Station, with over 2,000 wagons currently arriving at the station.

The average daily unloading capacity is approximately 100 wagons per day.

Representatives from the agricultural market also raised the issue of potential railway development at Izmail Station and improving cargo handling.

Ivan Yemets, Deputy Director of the Logistics and Ferry Operations Department of the Odessa Railway Regional Branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, stated that the company is already considering projects to expand the capacity of Izmail Station and other sections.

First and foremost, this includes the Arcyz-Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi-Izmail sections.

Currently, the electrification of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi-Izmail section is being considered, and its implementation is planned to begin this year.
