UZ could not hold a tender for the purchase of 3374 tons of rails
20.10.2021
On October 16, an auction for the purchase of 3374 tons of rails for the amount of UAH 117.5 million was supposed to be held by Ukrzaliznytsia, but it did not take place due to the lack of participants.

Only Metinvest-SMC entered the auction. UZ itself announced the tender on 15 September.
This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Prozorro.
This is the second tender that did not take place due to the lack of participants, thus, UZ acquired the right to conclude an agreement with any supplier without a tender (after two unsuccessful attempts).
Earlier, without a tender, Ukrzaliznytsia entered into an agreement with the Dnepropetrovsk Switch Plant for UAH 154 million for the supply of switch elements. By the end of the year, the plant will supply the Carrier with frame rails, crosspieces and counter rails.
Note that in the first half of the year, UZ failed its capital investment plan. They amounted to UAH 4.5 billion, which is 56% less than the plan (UAH 10.3 billion).
