Additionally, the purchase of nine platzkart cars is planned (three per train).

Traditionally, “Night Express” trains consisted only of compartment and SV cars, but in the updated format, platzkart cars will also be added to expand transport options in the most socially significant segment.

The cars will be equipped with vacuum toilets, changing areas, sockets, and USB ports for quick gadget charging, electronic displays, coffee makers, and cars for passengers with disabilities will have lifting platforms for comfortable passenger boarding in wheelchairs.

Furthermore, the compartment doors in compartment and SV cars will be equipped with a signaling system and door locking buttons for increased passenger safety, and a video surveillance system is also provided.

The overall estimated procurement amount is 1 billion 951 million hryvnias, and Ukrzaliznytsia plans to receive the new cars by the end of 2025 under the agreement.

Previously, it was reported that JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” intends to purchase 144 passenger cars with funds from the state budget.
