The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will support further integration of the Ukrainian railway into the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

USAID will assist “Ukrzaliznytsia” in modernizing the section from the Mostiska railway station, located on the border with Poland, to Lviv (Sknilov).

The agency aims to facilitate the continued integration of the Ukrainian railway into the TEN-T system.

The respective memorandum was signed on November 24, 2023.

From “Ukrzaliznytsia,” the letter of intent was signed by the CEO, Evgen Lyashchenko, and the board member, Vyacheslav Yeremin.

From USAID, Acting Mission Director Anne Hopper signed the memorandum.

Notably, the plan includes the construction of a European gauge (1435 mm) track on the section from Mostiska to Lviv.
