Ukrzaliznytsia will invite a legal advisor to restructure external debts

Ukrzaliznytsia announced its intention to conclude an agreement with Dechert lawyers for advice on English law.

The corresponding tender was announced by UZ on March 3, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing Railinsider.

Five companies submitted proposals for the tender, but the tender committee admitted only three to the tender:

• Dechert;
• Baker and McKenzie;
• Norton rose.

Dechert offered the lowest price – UAH 3 700 000. Therefore, on May 18, UZ announced its intention to conclude an agreement with them.

A new procedure for renewing the rolling stock of Ukrzaliznytsia approved

According to the tender documents, lawyers must help UZ to restructure its current external debts. They will also advise the carrier when issuing new bonds in international markets and in negotiations with creditors. Last year, UZ already collaborated with Dechert lawyers. Then the corresponding services cost UAH 2 600 000, and it was about attracting an external loan.
