Alstom has opened a center for rail transport digitalization
This was announced by the Director of International Representations at Ukrzaliznytsia, Alexandra Vasilenko.
According to the official, the establishment of this representation is crucial for the company, primarily in the context of European integration, as it will facilitate swift access to European institutions and the ability to promptly address issues.
“First and foremost, it’s the European Union, access to European institutions. Since matters related to certification and the European integration of our company into the European market will require a significant number of contacts, particularly in Brussels, with representatives not only from the European Commission but also with representatives of our partner countries,” she explained.
Alexandra Vasilenko also noted that, in addition to Ukrzaliznytsia’s physical representation in Poland, there are currently representatives of the company in various countries, including the Baltic States, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, and Romania.

“As of today, there are four individuals physically located in other countries, addressing both strategic cooperation and operational issues. So, if there are any problematic situations, such as train delays or emergencies, they are there to resolve them as swiftly as possible. Currently, Poland has the largest team,” she added.
It’s worth noting that in July, Ukrzaliznytsia registered a company called Ukrainian Railways Cargo Poland in Poland. This company will provide freight transport services and coordinate cooperation with partners in EU countries.
In the initial stages of operation, the subsidiary company will offer comprehensive freight transport services, coordinate collaboration with European operators, freight carriers, border crossings, and oversee the movement of rolling stock abroad.
