Ukrzaliznytsia Saves Budget Through Tender

The contract was signed in April under the joint project with the EBRD, “Emergency Support for Ukrainian Railways.” Seven companies participated in the tender.

Voestalpine Rail Technology GmbH offered the lowest price — €900 per ton. This allowed Ukrzaliznytsia to save funds and increase the total order volume by 20%.

Under the agreement, the company will receive a total of 36,000 tons of rails — enough to upgrade or construct 280 km of tracks across strategic corridors.

Deliveries Progress Ahead of Schedule

After receiving the first batch, specialists immediately began installing the new rails. This significantly accelerates the modernization program.

Through this initiative, Ukrzaliznytsia strengthens its role as a vital part of the country’s transport infrastructure. The company is efficiently utilizing both internal resources and international support.

The new high-quality rails will improve transport safety and speed — essential factors for both economic stability and national defense.
