Ukrzaliznytsia plans to repair almost 1200 km of railway tracks in 2024

By the end of 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia intends to repair over 1195 km of tracks and 1073 sets of switches, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Major repairs will be carried out on 386 km of tracks, while 810 km will undergo medium repairs.
Ukrzaliznytsia continues to update its passenger car fleet and suburban trains
The work will be deployed on sections with intensive train traffic and high levels of wear and tear.
Railway workers plan to utilize 310 units of track machinery and 2640 units of special rolling stock based on freight cars for repair work over the year.
Additionally, in 2024, they intend to restore structures damaged due to combat actions.
“The aim of each repair is to ensure safe and stable train operations. Repair work will not affect the rhythm of passenger transportation,” the company assured.
As reported earlier, the volume of Ukrzaliznytsia’s track repairs increased by almost 20% in 2023.
