Ukrzaliznytsia Increased Freight Car Repairs by 11.6% in the First Half of 2024

In the first half of 2024, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia completed the repair of 11,608 freight cars, which is an 11.6% increase compared to the same period last year, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Freight car repairs are carried out at the depots of the company’s regional branches as well as at wagon-building and wagon-repair factories.
A significant portion of the work, up to 50%, is performed on behalf of private companies that own the cars.
Of the total number of repaired cars, the largest share consists of hopper cars—over 6,300 units.
In second place by repair volume are grain carriers—1,400 units, followed by tank cars (890) and cement carriers (780).
