For January to September 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia utilized UAH 10.4 billion in capital investments, constituting 61% of the planned amount, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This figure marks a 40% increase compared to the previous year.

Investments are directed towards infrastructure restoration, including bridges and tracks, as well as rolling stock updates.

Particular emphasis is placed on the capital repair and reconstruction of tracks, reaching a total of UAH 2.521 billion.

It’s crucial to note that the projected investment plan for the current year is expected to reach UAH 26.797 billion.

These investments promise significant improvements in Ukraine’s railway sector, showcasing the commitment to modernization and development even in times of conflict.

The investments by Ukrzaliznytsia in the current year are distributed across various sectors, with UAH 4.448 billion allocated to infrastructure.

This includes the restoration of bridges, tracks, and power facilities affected by hostilities.

Capital repair and reconstruction of 211.8 km of track and 92 sets of switch gears are exemplary efforts in this regard.

It’s worth emphasizing that the upgrading of rolling stock is also a focal point.

An allocation of UAH 5.095 billion, almost half of the total capital investments, has been directed towards this process.

The state budget has contributed to the acquisition of 15 passenger cars, totaling UAH 401 million.

Ukrzaliznytsia’s financial plan for 2023 envisions record capital investments of UAH 50 billion.

These ambitious efforts underscore the company’s dedication to the modernization and improvement of railway infrastructure in Ukraine.
