Ukrzaliznytsia bans the transit of Russian iron ore concentrate to Slovakia

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” has introduced a convention for the transportation of iron ore concentrate to the US Steel Košice metallurgical plant since 17.04.2021, informs Railway Supply magazine referring to CFTS.

Ukrzaliznytsia bans the transit

Citing data from UZ, the ban applies to concentrate shipped from Lebedinsky GOK (RF), which is part of the Russian group Metalloinvest.

In the fall of 2020, Metalloinvest began exporting pellets through the port of Ust-Luga in the Baltic, which resulted in the loss of transit freight traffic of iron ore raw materials for the SE Yuzhny Commercial Sea Port.
