Ukrzaliznytsia bans the transportation of Belarusian goods in Russian wagons

Since May 10, Ukrzaliznytsia has banned the transportation of Belarusian goods by wagons belonging to residents of the Russian Federation.
The department of information policy of UZ explained to journalists that in this way the carrier wants to reduce the idle time of the wagons of domestic operators, infroms Railway Supply magazine citing Railinsider.
At the same time, the department clarified that the ban does not apply to the use of wagons of other owners of rolling stock and does not apply to the types of products transported by rail.

At the same time, from May 18 to May 31, all freight traffic to Belstekloprom, Gomel Carriage Works, Baitimber (engaged in the production of timber and sawn timber) is prohibited in UZ, journalists report. As a reminder, in January-February 2021, the Belarusian Railway transported 7.9 million tons of cargo for export, which is 28.7% more than in the same period in 2020.
