Ukrzaliznytsia will allocate a significant amount for the development of passenger transportation and service this year

Ukrzaliznytsia has approved over 2.7 billion UAH for the development of passenger transportation and customer service, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
This was announced by the member of the board, chairman of the Passenger Company branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, Alexander Pertsovsky during the Supplier Day 2024.

According to the official, out of the specified amount, 695 million UAH is planned to be allocated for materials, 1.05 billion UAH for spare parts, 417 million UAH for equipment, 542 million UAH for fuel, and 34 million UAH for oils and lubricants.
“For 2024, this is already an approved amount, but we are in the process of approving a significant additional capital investment program, so the total procurement amount will increase. The main thing is that we structure our purchases not by a piecemeal method, but within specific long-term investment programs,” emphasized Alexander Pertsovsky.
Among such programs transitioning from 2023, he mentioned the modernization of passenger cars and completing initiatives to transition to new equipment standards, as well as projects to improve working conditions.
New projects for 2024 will also include new initiatives for the modernization of passenger rolling stock (especially electric and diesel trains), capital repair of critical equipment, updating laundry complexes, etc.
