Fitch Ratings, the rating agency, has affirmed Ukrzaliznytsia’s long-term credit rating at CC, which corresponds to Ukraine’s current sovereign credit rating. Additionally, Fitch upgraded the company’s Standalone (proprietary) credit profile from CCC- to CCC, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
The agency emphasized that these rating actions are a result of Ukrzaliznytsia’s improved performance in the first half of 2023.

“As of the end of the first half of 2023, we have seen a positive trend in our key business indicators and continue to maintain it, despite the grain initiative blockade. Thanks to the development of western land crossings, the monthly transportation volume through them has increased in 2023 compared to 2022. Therefore, we already have results that positively impact the company’s condition and allow us to be a reliable partner for the state and every customer in these challenging times of prolonged war and economic turbulence,” noted Evgeny Lyashchenko, the Chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia’s Board of Directors.
