Ukrzaliznytsia announces a tender for 22 passenger carriages

State-owned enterprise Ukrzaliznytsia will conduct an additional tender to purchase up to 22 new passenger carriages, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Two months ago, Ukrzaliznytsia successfully concluded a tender to procure 44 new passenger carriages, and the execution of the contract has commenced.

“As additional funding opportunities arise for the rolling stock upgrade program from the state budget, Ukrzaliznytsia announces an additional tender to purchase up to 22 new passenger carriages, including 11 compartments, three SV (high-class), seven berth, and a carriage designed for passengers with disabilities. The company aims to maximize the efficient use of the limited budgetary resources to enhance passenger transportation,” explained the company.
Traditionally, the carriages will be equipped with:
- Air conditioners
- Vacuum toilets
- Folding tables
- Quality adjustable lighting
- Power outlets and USB ports
- Coffee machines
- Video surveillance system
- Compartments and SV carriages with an alarm system and door lock button
- Carriage for passengers with disabilities with lift platforms for wheelchair boarding.
Ukrzaliznytsia stated that the final quantity of acquired rolling stock will be determined when the funding possibilities and amounts for the rolling stock upgrade program from the state budget are conclusively confirmed.
As previously reported, Ukrzaliznytsia intends to acquire 144 passenger carriages funded by the state budget.
