In honor of Ukrainian Railway Worker Day, which will be celebrated on November 4th, Ukrposhta presented the postal block ‘Heroic Professions. Iron People.’, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The stamp cancellation took place on November 1st at the Central Railway Station and other railway stations in Ukraine.

The block consists of two stamps, ‘Evacuation. Kherson →’ and ‘→ Lviv,’ which tell the story of heroism and resilience of Ukrainian railway workers.
On May 3, 2023, Russians carried out massive shelling of the civilian population in Kherson throughout the day and later in the afternoon, they targeted the railway station, hitting a train carriage.
The railway workers acted in a coordinated and professional manner: they uncoupled the carriage engulfed in flames, provided medical assistance to the injured conductor, and quickly boarded passengers onto the surviving carriages.
Train No. 109 from Kherson to Lviv departed with a 14-minute delay from Kherson and arrived in Lviv on May 4th as scheduled.
The circulation of the postal block is 150,000 copies. The face value of each stamp is W = equivalent to 1.5 dollars (corresponding to the tariff for sending non-priority standard letters by surface mail weighing up to 50 grams to foreign countries).
The circulation of the ‘First Day’ envelope is 40,000 copies, and the postcards are 80,000 copies.
You can purchase this postal issue starting from November 1st at post offices or through a link in Ukrposhta’s philatelic store.
