08.12.2023
The logistics group’s subsidiary is expanding its European presence and will become the second-largest rail freight operator in Germany, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Mercitalia Logistics, a subsidiary of TX Logistik, has finalized the acquisition of Exploris Deutschland Holding to extend its presence in 11 different countries.
In addition to acquiring Exploris, this agreement also includes TX Logistik acquiring 16 companies, including Via Cargo, HSL Logistik, and Delta Rail, along with a service network in Germany, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, and Switzerland.
As a result, TX Logistik and Mercitalia Logistics will continue to grow their international business, bringing the total number of employees to over 6000.
TX Logistik will also add 75 Exploris trains to its fleet, increasing it to approximately 166 trains.
This agreement is part of FS Group’s ambition to become a systemic European operator by expanding its network to ‘intercept international freight flows,’ particularly in Germany, the leading country for freight flows on the continent.
