Under the contract worth 7.8 billion dinars, the first trams are expected to be delivered within 12 months, with the remainder within the following 13 months.

Bozankaya’s new trams, designed as fully low-floor vehicles with five sections, range from 29 to 32 meters in length.

They provide a minimum of 40 seats and a total capacity of at least 160 passengers, equivalent to four persons per square meter.

Bozankaya faced competition from Siemens Mobility, whose bid was disqualified due to procedural violations — it was not submitted through the official state procurement portal.

Additionally, Bozankaya is participating in other tram supply tenders in the region, including a contract for 20 trams for Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, where it competed against local company Končar KEV, offering 46 million euros compared to Končar KEV’s 50 million euros.

Bozankaya’s victory in the Belgrade tram supply tender underscores their ambitions to expand their influence in the urban public transport market in Eastern Europe.
