TÜRASAŞ has launched mass production of UAIS platforms designed to transport military equipment, which will be delivered to operator TCDD Taşımacılık starting in 2025 under a state contract. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The company will manufacture 100 units between 2025 and 2026. Each platform weighs 22 tons, measures 14.5 meters in length, and can carry up to 68 tons of cargo.

UAIS models are capable of transporting 78 out of 104 types of military equipment currently in service with the Turkish Armed Forces. Additionally, they are suitable for container transport at speeds of up to 100 km/h.

TÜRASAŞ developed the UAIS platform in 2023. A prototype was unveiled in August, followed by successful dynamic testing during the fall season.

The project entered full-scale production after an official announcement in November 2023. This initiative will enhance logistical capabilities for both military and civilian sectors.

TÜRASAŞ Strengthens Its Role in Defense Logistics

The company is actively expanding its role in the transport infrastructure sector. Special focus is placed on developing domestic solutions to reduce dependency on imports.

TÜRASAŞ views the UAIS project as a contribution to national security and industrial self-sufficiency. Producing these platforms will meet growing demand for military transport via rail.

With its innovations in defense logistics, the company is reinforcing its position as a provider of advanced transportation solutions. Until recently, the UAIS platform had only been used in test operations.

Now it will become a key part of Turkey’s broader modernization strategy. The project will support the integration of rail transport into strategic defense planning.
