Israel continues to modernize its railway fleet
The operator plans to introduce the first 6 trams in August 2024, replacing outdated Schindler Waggon cars from the late 1970s to early 1980s.
The seven-section TINA cars feature steel bodies, a single control cabin, and 8 double-leaf doors. Comfort is ensured with air conditioning, passenger information systems, and panoramic windows.
With a speed of up to 80 km/h, 96 seating places, and the capacity to carry 160 standing passengers, they prove to be an efficient mode of transportation.
It is anticipated that all 25 cars will be delivered by the end of 2025.
As the first customer for the next-generation TINA cars in Switzerland, BLT takes a significant step in modernizing public transportation, offering citizens modern and comfortable means of travel.
