Transportation of construction materials decreased in UZ in March
22.04.2022
In March 2022 transportation of coal by rail in Ukraine decreased by half compared to the corresponding month last year, while the transportation of mineral building materials decreased by almost 90%.
This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply.
On the other hand, the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine did not significantly affect the distribution of traffic by cargo groups.
Leadership is retained by iron and manganese ore. These products account for almost a third of all shipments.
Somewhat less is accounted for by hard coal, whose share in the total cargo traffic has noticeably increased.
In third place – grain and grinding products. On the fourth one – the construction materials. Black metals are traditionally rounding out the top five.
In general, according to the results of the previous month, more than 8 million tons of cargo were transported by rail.
