Over the past three years, the wear and tear of the locomotive fleet of the Kazakhstan Railways decreased to 52%, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In 2023, Kazakhstan Railways acquired 112 locomotives, bringing the total procurement over the last three years to 254 locomotives.

The national carrier managed to reduce the average wear of locomotives from 68% in 2020 to 52% in 2023 through fleet renewal.

Additionally, 1,369 kilometers of railway tracks were repaired in Kazakhstan this year, doubling the amount compared to the previous year.
