railcar jacks on the border with Poland

By the end of May, the USAID project plans to install 20 jacks on the border between Ukraine and Poland in the Lviv region.

“These railcar jacks are an effective way to replace bogies with wide-gauge (1520 mm) and European-gauge (1435 mm) wheelsets and vice versa, which facilitates the smooth execution of technological processes related to the repositioning of railcars, thereby increasing the efficiency of freight transportation by rail between Ukraine and the European Union,” the statement said.

As previously reported, it is planned to modernize 42 border crossing points on Ukraine’s western border.
