The California High-Speed Rail Authority has published the final list of candidates for supplying new electric trains for the high-speed rail line from Merced to Bakersfield, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Two companies are included: Alstom Transportation and Siemens Mobility.

The competition winner will deliver the first two train prototypes for technical and operational testing in 2028, with the remaining four trains scheduled for completion by 2030.
