The UK Government Launches Competition for Transport Innovations

The TRIG competition has increased funding for one application in 2023, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
The UK government has opened the latest round of the transport research and innovation competition, providing £1.8 million (approximately $2.18 million) in funding available to companies working on projects related to airport decarbonization and using AI to make transportation more cost-effective and faster.

The Transport Research and Innovation Grants (TRIG) competition has been running for a decade, and companies can win up to £45,000, more than in previous years, for projects that contribute to economic development and the decarbonization of the transport industry.
Since 2014, the TRIG competition has allocated £12 million to 361 projects, with 67 projects funded last year, focusing on technologies such as navigation programs for passengers with limited mobility and improvements for cargo ports.
