The U.S. Invests in Ukraine’s Agriculture and Infrastructure

Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma emphasized that agriculture remains a cornerstone of Ukraine’s economy. This support will enable Ukrainian farmers to play a crucial role in rebuilding the country.

The U.S. is providing $74.7 million to develop Ukraine’s export-oriented agricultural sector. These funds will help food industry enterprises and farmers expand their presence in global markets.

Additionally, the U.S. collaborates with major companies such as ADM, Bunge, Cargill, and Louis-Dreyfus. These partnerships facilitate the export of high-quality Ukrainian products to households worldwide.

The U.S. has also allocated $223 million for restoring Ukraine’s transportation infrastructure, including ports, railways, and logistics hubs. This initiative ensures the smooth operation of critical facilities essential for economic growth.

Furthermore, $35 million will go to Ukraine’s Recovery Trust Fund, developed in cooperation with the World Bank. These funds will accelerate reconstruction through the integration of public and private investments.

The U.S. Supports Job Creation and Economic Recovery in Ukraine

The U.S. is also investing $105 million to train Ukrainian workers and create new job opportunities. This funding will improve skills development and support citizens in contributing to the nation’s recovery.

Richard Verma highlighted that U.S. support for Ukraine is not an act of charity. Instead, the United States and its allies aim to strengthen global stability and uphold democratic values.

He stated that Russia’s aggression threatens NATO and EU principles, making Ukraine’s defense a top priority.

Previously, it was reported that the European Union would provide €43 million to Ukraine’s railway company for integration projects.
