05.11.2021
Six two-section 6-axle locomotives with dual-fuel traction engines (a mixture of diesel fuel and LNG) with a capacity of at least 3310 kW for each section are expected to be delivered.
Starting traction force at full power should be 620 kN. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until November 10, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to “Tekhnika Zheleznykh Dorog” magazine.
The rolling stock must be delivered to the Aldan depot no more than 3 years after the signing of the contract. At the end of April, a 2TE3250 (SD70ACe / lw) gas locomotive, manufactured by the American Progress Rail in Chicago, arrived in Yakutia for testing.
The locomotive is equipped with a 16-710G3C-T2 engine with a capacity of 3 356 kW, and it uses a mixture (80% gas, 20% diesel) as fuel. The traction force of the gas locomotive when starting off is 660 kN.
It was reported that if the tests of the American locomotive were successful, the Railways of Yakutia would consider their localization at the Aldan depot.
