The prototype of the high-speed train CR450 is planned to be released in China in 2024, capable of reaching an impressive speed of 400 km/h, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This statement comes against the backdrop of the completion of the assembly of this prototype, which promises to be 12% lighter and 20% more energy-efficient compared to existing CR400 Fuxing family electric train models, which operate at speeds of up to 350 km/h.

However, it’s not just about speed, but also about improved safety and efficiency.

The CR450 train promises increased braking force by 20%, making it more reliable and safer for passengers.

The technological breakthrough represented by the creation of the CR450 train also includes intensive testing of key components, including retrofitted CR400 series trains.

In the summer of 2023, one such train already demonstrated its potential by reaching an impressive speed of 453 km/h on the trans-sea high-speed rail bridge linking Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Zhangzhou.

However, significant innovations in railway infrastructure and artificial structures will be required to ensure the safety and efficiency of trains traveling at speeds of 400 km/h.

Nevertheless, such challenges do not seem insurmountable for engineers and technical specialists, given the potential of the Chinese railway industry.
