16.09.2023

The new equipment can reduce the time it takes to transfer cargo from train to ship by two-thirds, approximately 20 hours.
The draft law on railway transport in Ukraine is nearing its final stage
Furthermore, this could prove beneficial if Ukraine starts exporting grain through Baltic ports.
Although Poland may extend its ban on the import of Ukrainian grain, the transit route through the country would not be significantly affected, and it could be advantageous for Ukraine to reach Baltic ports for the export of its agricultural products.
As noted by the Chairman of the Board of Ukrainian Railways (UZ), Evgeny Lyashchenko, railway cooperation between Ukraine and the Baltic states is a rather complex and long-term project.
One of the fundamental aspects, as he stated, is that access tariffs to Baltic ports must be competitive with those for Polish ports.
Lyashchenko emphasized the need for the European Union to provide subsidies to bridge the tariff gap.
