The Moldovan Railway, together with the country’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, held an online meeting with the Deutsche Bahn Engineering team, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the railway infrastructure, the stimulation of economic development of Moldova’s railway, and the improvement of cargo transportation.

Representatives of the Moldovan Railway shared information about the current situation in the railway transport sector, the management and operation of infrastructure, as well as the challenges related to mobility.

Additionally, emphasis was placed on the implementation of reforms in the railway sector. Therefore, technical assistance and support in developing feasibility studies are indispensable at this stage of the development process.

“The goal of the cooperation between the Moldovan Railway, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Deutsche Bahn Engineering is to modernize the railway infrastructure to maximize travel speed and create a safe, efficient, and continuous railway network,” the statement said.

As previously reported, Moldova aims to join OTIF.
