GreenSpeed provides train operators with speed regulation recommendations based on schedule and train location, integrating various onboard operational systems and displaying data on a tablet screen.
This will enable the selection of optimal speed modes, reducing energy consumption and wear on rolling stock.
Thales Ground Transportation Systems, specializing in railway signaling and digitization, played a significant role in this project.
An important step in its development was the approval for Thales to acquire Hitachi Rail for €1.66 billion.
