The First Citadis Tram Begins Operation on Line T1 in Île-de-France

The Citadis Tram has officially started operating on Line T1 in the Île-de-France region. This milestone marks a new phase in the modernization of public transportation. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Alstom is delivering 37 Citadis trams to this route, with 33 trams ready by 2025. These new trams will offer passengers improved comfort, energy efficiency, and better travel experiences.
Advantages of the Citadis Tram
The Citadis Tram was built using cutting-edge technology at eight Alstom facilities located across France. This tram features a low-floor design and innovative swivel bogies beneath the driver’s cabin.

Its 33-meter length allows the tram to transport up to 200 passengers per trip efficiently. Additionally, the model consumes 30% less energy than earlier versions, supporting eco-friendly urban transportation.
Citadis Tram: Future Development Plans
Alstom is also working with Lille through a €124 million contract for 30 Citadis trams. This deal includes a firm order for 24 trams, with an option for six more.
The first tram for Lille will be operational by mid-2026, improving urban mobility with modern and efficient transportation. The city aims to enhance its public transit system for residents and visitors.
