The German logistics company Rhenus Group and “Uzbek Railways” are preparing a joint project to expand the multimodal transport and logistics center, established at the freight terminal of the Akhtachi railway station in the Andijan region, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The area of the center is to be increased by 20 hectares at the expense of the territories of the “Ipak Yuli” (“Silk Road”) free economic zone.

The companies also plan to create two more transport and logistics centers in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions of Uzbekistan.

Previously, LogiStan reported that Rhenus and “Uzbek Railways” would jointly manage two freight terminals.
