France to Purchase 8 Hybrid Trains for €56 Million: Modernization of the Narrow Gauge Line Nice – Digne-les-Bains

The new track, laid parallel to the existing line, has a gauge of 1000 mm and passes through the provinces of Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The construction of several elevated sections has eliminated level crossings with roads, significantly enhancing the safety and efficiency of transportation.

The project is part of a large-scale strategy for the development of Thailand’s railway infrastructure.

As part of this program, new railway lines are simultaneously being built in both northern and southern directions, which will connect the country with Laos.

In addition, the construction of a second track on seven more lines has been approved, which will significantly expand the railway network.

Upon completion of all projects, scheduled for 2029, the total length of double-track lines in Thailand will exceed 2,370 km.

This figure will represent 65% of the total length of the national network, a significant increase from the current 6%.

The implementation of these projects will greatly enhance the network’s capacity for both freight and passenger transport, ultimately improving overall transportation safety and efficiency in the country.
