The complex is equipped with ultrasonic and eddy current defect detection systems, as well as video monitoring of rail surface. “SEVER-1435” is capable of diagnosing 500 km of tracks per week.
Slovakia’s Minister of Transport, Pavol Lanchár, stated that ŽSR plans to conduct biannual inspections of the entire railway network.
The delivery to the EU country was carried out under the pressure of sanctions, with certification tests performed in the Czech Republic in 2022.
ŽSR also has plans to acquire a single-section track measurement railcar “SEVER-1435” from “TVEMA”. A similar machine was launched on the railways of Serbia in August 2021.
