Since the beginning of this month, eight cars of this train have been undergoing testing on a 28-kilometer section of the high-speed suburban system GTX A in Seoul.

These tests include evaluating the train’s aerodynamics and the functionality of ground equipment.

Furthermore, its performance under full load is being tested, with each car carrying five tanks, each weighing 1.5 tons.

In total, within the scope of these tests, which will continue until 2024, the train is expected to cover 30,000 kilometers.

Previously, during preliminary tests on the Osong line, the train covered 5,000 kilometers.

The A000 class train was introduced by the Korean manufacturer in December of the previous year.

It is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour and accommodating over 1,000 passengers.

The contract for the delivery of 20 such Hyundai Rotem trains was signed in 2020.

The rolling stock is expected to be delivered by the end of December and commence operations in the following year.
