The plan includes updating 24 tram units and the potential purchase of an additional 10 trams to expand the fleet.
The focus is on enhancing passenger comfort and improving the city’s environmental situation.
TfL is currently negotiating with the UK government on project funding, which will be a key step towards the start of the tender procedures.
Financial support will determine the feasibility of launching the tender and subsequent deliveries of new rolling stock.
It is expected that new trams will soon operate on London’s streets, providing a modern and sustainable solution for urban transportation.
The renewal of London’s tram fleet aims to improve the quality of transport services and support environmentally friendly technologies.
The introduction of new models will reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency, aligning with modern urban mobility standards.
