Tender for the Supply of Hybrid Trains: Croatia Modernizes Rail Transport

The national operator HŽPP has announced a tender for the supply of hybrid trains to upgrade its fleet. The total contract value is €107.3M excluding VAT. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

As part of the project, 13 trains will be delivered, including 5 models with diesel and overhead power traction, 4 contact-battery-powered, and 4 battery-powered trains. The supplier must fulfill the obligations within two years of signing the contract.

The HŽPP project aims to implement modern technologies that will reduce costs and minimize environmental impact. Orders for similar rolling stock were previously fulfilled by the local company Končar, known for its innovations.
